An elegy

We’re just so happy last Wednesday. Then three days later something very bad happened. Jurrel’s dad died last Saturday due to heart attack . He was just 49.

The first thing that hit my mind when the news reached me was the EC curse. It wasn’t really a curse, just an observation that every year our organization’s set of officers had an immediate family that pass away. The oldest that we could date was way back in 2001. I hope that the curse would be broken. Please.

kJ, Jhovy and I went to Batangas today to attend the wake of his father. We arrived at 10 pm after 3 hours of trip. His family was very hospitable and we we’re touched by the warm welcome. Even though there was a funeral, they made us feel that everything is still ok. Jurrel tried to be as natural as he is, and we feel that he tries to be strong for him and his family. I admire his courage and sense of responsibility for that. My condolences.

A Dedication, disclosure and an avowal

To my very first college friends:

We’ve been together for almost five years now, and I know that some of you will be leaving us behind. I just wanted you to know that I am very thankful to have friends like you guys. You have helped me mold into a new being that I am now. I have changed so much deep inside me, although some people don’t realize that. I hope that I have touched your lives the way you have touched mine. We may have parted ways during the course of our college lives, but I’m happy to find out that we’re still good friends just like before, when we used to hang out at Jurrel’s place, playing Pokemon and eating lunch. I miss the old times…

June 27, 2002 – we watched Minority Report. All of us are just new members of KEM. This will be our last gimmick for the longest time.

Fast forward – January 26, 2005 – good thing Jhovy organized another gimmick! This was our very first in two and a half years. We ate at Tokyo Tokyo and went directly to Worlds of Fun! And yes, we had fun… ÜÜÜ

To a long lost love:

If I could only turn back the hands of time, then I would have that what I supposed to do – and that’s the wish that I should’ve never let you go. I know I almost had you, and if I just did things one step earlier, then chances are I have not let you slip away. Too bad I haven’t told my feelings for you, and there could never be a chance that I could say that. I was a fool back then, and I was so afraid to tell you my feelings (for so many reasons that I could only keep to myself), now you’re just a past that I would never want to forget. I can’t as of present time that I still love you, coz I know that I’m moving on, but what I can say is that I am only almost over you. Thank you for the memories… goodbye.

***

To my I.P.:

You have no idea who you are, unless my friends tell it to you, you will never find out. But I just wanna say that I like you (a lot) , and I’m holding back my feelings so that I can feel nothing more than that. I have never been in love to a friend and that’s the way it should be. And besides, I want somebody else for you, so let’s keep our friendship tight and don’t put it on the rocks, right? You have been an inspiration to me for the past few months and I wanna thank you for that. I hope you stay jovial and lovable as you are right now. Take care. I hope you read this message.ÜÜÜ

Top of the Pops

MTV Diyes does this weekly top ten anything list. I think now’s my turn to have my own version of that. So here’s my three top ten lists of:

Favorite female artist:

1.) Geri Halliwell – I don’t know when this happened, but I just found out that I deeply like her. Go Geri!
2.) Alicia Keys – what more can I say? She’s pure talent.
3.) Nyko Maca – [from star in a million season 2] too bad she ain’t bagged the top prize, hope I see her again soon…
4.) Macy Gray – her husky voice tells it all
5.) Dido – she’s no angel, but her voice is angelic!
6.) Faith Hill – the most beautiful and the best country singer ever
7.) Camile Velasco – great talent! And we share the same surname. Too bad we ain’t related though
8.) Jessica Simpson – Nick Lachey must be very lucky to have her
9.) Mariah Carey – simply because she is the singer of my favorite song, One Sweet Day
10.)Gayle Dizon – soul sensation; where is she now?

Favorite male artist:

1.) Robbie Williams – bad boy for life. But talent-wise, he’s good!
2.) Eminem – everybody listens to his music. Let’s all admit that.
3.) Usher – the ugly duckling turned to a handsome drake. What’s good is he creates beautiful rnb music.
4.) Duncan [Blue] – don’t you know him?
5.) Shaggy – Boombastic
6.) Gary V. – he has all what it takes for everyone to like him
7.) Michael Buble – who says jazz is already dead?
8.) Jay Durias – former fat boy singing falsetto
9.) Christian Bautista – the most successful of the star search winners
10.)Stevie Wonder – he puts heart and soul to his music

Greatest pet peeve (Tagalog ako dito):

The nerves!
4.) Late comers!
6.) Mga kapal muks, mayabang at annoying professors and instructors [wala silang kailangang ipagyabang sa mundong ibabaw]
7.) Eeeewww! Mga taong nakikita kong umiinom ng gatas. Nasusuka ako. I just hate milk.

Try ko pag-isip for next time.

Karma
